Privacy Policy
1. Who we are
Tug Out is published by Northsight Technologies Inc. ("Northsight", "we", "us"), Toronto, Ontario, Canada. We are responsible for the information described in this policy. Contact: support@tugout.northsight.ca.
2. Information we do not collect
We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, postal address, precise or coarse location, contacts, photos, microphone or camera data, or any account credentials. The game has no sign-in and no chat.
3. Information stored only on your device
Your level, coins, collection, daily-board streak and settings (sound, music, haptics, reduced motion, screen shake) are saved locally on your device. We cannot see this information, and it is removed when you delete the app.
Daily reminder. If you turn on the optional daily reminder (it is off until you agree, and your phone asks your permission), the reminder is scheduled by your phone's own notification system, on your device. No push service is used, and nothing about the reminder — not your chosen time, your streak or whether you tapped it — is sent to us or to anyone else. Turn it off any time in Settings → Reminders or in your phone's notification settings.
4. Information collected by our service providers
| Provider | Purpose | What it receives |
|---|---|---|
| Google AdMob (Google LLC) | Showing ads, including optional rewarded videos, measuring ad performance, and preventing fraud | Advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS if you allow tracking; Android advertising ID), IP address, device and app information (model, operating system, language), and ad interactions |
| Google Analytics for Firebase (Google LLC) | Understanding how the game is played, so we can improve levels and fix problems | App instance ID, gameplay events (for example level started, cleared or failed, hints and ads viewed), device and app information, coarse country derived from IP address |
| Apple App Store / Google Play, with RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc.) — only once in-app purchases are offered; the Game has none today | Processing and restoring in-app purchases (when available) | A random purchase identifier, purchase history and store receipts. Payment details are handled by Apple or Google; we never see your card or billing information. |
These providers process information under their own privacy policies: Google Privacy Policy, How Google uses information from apps that use its services, RevenueCat Privacy Policy, Apple Privacy Policy.
The information above is not linked to your identity by us. We do not sell your personal information for money. Under some US state laws, showing personalised ads can count as "sharing" personal information; you can opt out as described in section 6.
5. Ads and consent
- iPhone and iPad: the game asks for permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you choose "Ask App Not to Track", your advertising identifier is not shared and you see non-personalised ads.
- European Economic Area, United Kingdom and Switzerland: before any ad is requested, the game shows Google's consent message so you can accept or reject personalised ads and related data use.
- Rewarded videos are always optional. You choose whether to watch one in exchange for an in-game reward. Buying "Remove Ads" removes interstitial ads; rewarded videos stay available if you want them.
6. Your choices and rights
- Change your ad consent at any time from Settings → Privacy options in the game (where Google's consent message applies).
- Stop reminders: switch off Settings → Reminders → Daily reminder in the game, or turn off notifications for Tug Out in your phone's settings.
- Limit ad tracking: on iOS, Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking; on Android, Settings → Privacy → Ads (reset or delete your advertising ID).
- Delete your game data: delete the app. See Your data for how to ask our providers to delete data associated with your device.
- Depending on where you live (for example under Canada's PIPEDA, the EU/UK GDPR, or California's CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or port personal information, to object to or restrict processing, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information or targeted advertising. Because we don't hold information that identifies you, most requests are best handled through the controls above; you can also contact us at support@tugout.northsight.ca and we will respond within 30 days. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority (in Canada, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner).
7. Legal bases (EEA/UK)
Where the GDPR applies: personalised advertising and the related use of device identifiers rely on your consent; non-personalised ads and analytics that keep the game working and improving rely on our legitimate interest in operating and funding a free game; purchases rely on performing our contract with you.
8. Children
Tug Out is intended for players aged 13 and over and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). If you believe a child has provided information through the game, contact us and we will help remove it.
9. Retention and security
Game data stays on your device until you delete the app. Our providers keep information for the periods set out in their policies (for example, Google Analytics event data is retained for up to 14 months). Information is sent over encrypted connections. Our providers may process information in countries other than yours, including the United States, under appropriate safeguards.
10. Changes
We will update this page if the game's data practices change, and change the effective date above. Significant changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
